Konstantinos Kafetsios
Konstantinos Kafetsios is an Associate Professor in Social and Organizational Psychology at the Psychology Department, University of Crete, one of the foremost research intensive Universities in Greece. He has held research and teaching positions in the UK (University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University) and in Greece (Hellenic Open University, University of Thessaly). He is currently the Director of the Applied Psychology Laboratory at the University of Crete.
Within the Emotions and Relationships Research Group he examines persons' relational and emotional capacities within their imminent social context: in dyadic relationships, in -hierarchical- relationships at work and within their cultural contexts. The research adopts a multilevel approach conceptually, operationally, and analytically, interfacing the different levels of analysis: person and dyad, group and culture. The "take home message" of this research is that social context is important for understanding the intrapersonal and interpersonal parameters of emotion and well-being. Ultimately, the research we conduct has real-world implications for how people communicate emotionally and relate with one another in personal and social relationships, relationships at work, and within different cultures.
